It is one year program which include 6 papers and 6 months industrial training and computer trainings.
What is a CAT program?
It is a Certified Accounting Technician course given by the Institute of Cost Management Accountants of Oman. A qualified CAT will cope with the daily accountancy needs of businesses and develop their accountancy skills other related to their job requirements.
Is there is any other additional courses given by ICMA?
Right now, ICMA is giving only CAT program, but the program includes more the accountancy and financial courses, It includes Human Resource, IT, and other business courses. In 2010, we are planning to introduce Advance courses as well.
What is the procedure of Registration? When is to be register?
The registration will be available at the ICMA office at Waljat Colleges of Applied Sciences, Knowledge Oasis Muscat, Rusayl, Sultanate of Oman. The admission must be taken in the month of April/ December. The Institution will issue ID card for the students and course material etc.
How CAT is good for the students?
A: It is a very good accountancy course that will be very useful for the students. CAT gives strong platform for the accountants to perform their jobs and achieve the optimum level of efficiency.
What is the difference between ICMA and other similar Institutions?
ICMA is an organization which is teaching CAT, IT and Accountancy as its core majors programs made designed to Oman Economy and Business needs. It is providing other courses along with CAT, such as; IT, Human Resource and other Business subjects which are relevant to an Omani Accountant. And that makes it different from any other institutions.
I am working in Sohar and would like to study this course but it is difficult for me to come to Muscat, what is the procedure in this case?
We will be conducting tutorial at many other places Sohar will be one of them. We will provide you with the timings of the classes and the venue. But the examinations will be conducted in the main office, ICMA, Muscat.
I work in an Oil Company located in the desert which means I’m rarely around Muscat, how can I attend or cope with the studies?
For the students, who are working in the desert, there will be special classes (whatever it is convenient for the students).
How will I become a member of the ICMA?
You will have to Complete and qualify full ICMA Oman program of three years and in a profession related to the accountancy.
The course that you are providing is very useful and I’m very interested to take it, but the timings of the classes are not convenient for me. I am working in one of the ministries in the morning. What can I do in this case?
ICMA has arranged are convenient schedule for all students who want to join in course (CAT). Some classes will be conducted in the morning time and some in the evening after 4 o’clock, so it fits everyone’s timings.
I am currently working as a security officer which means I’m doing shift job. I want to study this course, what is the procedure?

How much is the Fees of the program?
The fees will be paid according to the statues of the candidate. He will pay OMR 1500 in case he/she is a full time student. Under certain conditions he/ she are eligible to pay OMR 1200.
My brother and I / my colleague and I want to register in this course, will I get any discount or special rate in this case?
